Wireless ads at hypermart

GIANT Hypermarket Shah Alam became the first hypermarket in Malaysia to use wireless digital broadcast technology to high-resolution display panels when it launched the I-Vision Media platform recently.

The technology allows I-Vision Media to customise content on each screen, resulting in highly targeted, location-centric media strategies. Placed at points-of-purchase, these panels display advertisements featuring product images, promotions, bargains and product launches.

I-Vision Media will benefit advertisers as the advertisements can be tailor-made to suit target markets and consumers will be able to make informed decisions with the latest information at their disposal.

I-Vision Media (M) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Benny Yeo believes that there is potential in this technology as it represents a channel of communication that caters to a captive target market through visually arresting images and sounds.

“With I-Vision Media, you can, for example, execute strategic promotional programmes at selected outlets and at selected times from a centralised control centre. This allows customers to know what promotions are currently running in-store or at other branch outlets”, Yeo said.

I-Vision Media is supported by leading names in the IT industry, including Wincor-Nixdorf (M) Sdn Bhd, Panasonic System Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, and Wow Vision Pte Ltd.

I-Vision Media is confident that the technology employed, coupled with the low advertising costs and high exposure, will prove to be an attractive platform to advertisers and retailers while creating a pleasant & educational shopping experience.
